OUT AND ABOUT

September 27, 2013

Wearing: H&M - blouse (similar) | Forever21 - shorts (similar) and satchel | DSW - riding boots | Cotton On - scarf (similar @ Monsoon)

My sincere apologies for the lack of posts in the last couple of days. I've been extremely busy with midterms and general life stuff if you know what I mean, but i'm back and I have lots of exciting new posts coming in the future! For now I hope you enjoy this casual outfit of the day I sported a couple days back featuring a paisley scarf as an alternative for a belt. I think that the scarf added that little bit of "extra" his outfit needed and I was over all really happy with the way this ensemble turned out.

TEXTURE

September 23, 2013

Wearing: H&M - tee | Forever21 shorts - similar | Pull&Bear tweed blazer - similar (ASOS) | Enzo Angliolini Saharia Boots

Personally, I absolutely adore tweed, however, I can totally see how some people might be confused by it and think that it is super old fashioned. Nonetheless, I think that if you choose the right piece ( like the blazer I have on from Pull&Bear) and balance it by keeping the rest of the outfit rather simple it might just work in your favor!.  In this case I added a plain black tee (standard) , some lightly distressed high-waisted jean shorts and, of course, my favorite pair of biker boots.

Also, here are some tweed/boucle/textured pieces from ASOS that are absolutely to die for :

1. ASOS Textured Coatigan With PU Sleeve      2. ASOS Blazer in Mixed Boucle
3. Maison Scotch Boucle Blazer        4. ASOS Double Breasted Coatigan in Texture

JUST ADD DENIM

September 22, 2013

Wearing: Zara - black jeans | Levi's sweater - similar | Similar Forever21 - vest | Vintage Shoe Company - Aubrey Flats

Denim vests are probably one of my all time favorite clothing pieces. They are so versatile and easy to wear yet once you put them on it looks like you have spent hours deciding on your outfit. This denim vest was my mama's during her college years and I have had my eye on it for ages, this summer she finally caved and let me have it (mission accomplished!). Without the vest this outfit would be a bit to plain for my liking but add the denim and voila! I also added my favorite pair of british red oxfords for a pop of color and was ready to take on the world! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and until tomorrow.

colorFALL

Wearing: Thrifted tee - similar | Zara - black jeans | Enzo Angiolini Saharia Boots

I wanted to enjoy wearing chiffon and color a bit more before the weather decides to turn it's back on me and I would have to bundle up in coats and scarfs. So not thinking twice I pulled this thrifted bright yellow blouse over my head, some black skinny's and biker boots and was out the door to enjoy the beautiful wether in Golden Gate park. I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend, I know I am !

MADEN LANE

September 20, 2013

This friday could not have come along any slower than it has so as soon as my last lecture of the day was over I hopped on the 5 bus that took me to the heart of San Francisco for some shopping (which included wondering into a Diptyque Paris shop) , a bite to eat  and a stroll down Maden Lane downtown, which resulted in some photos for you to enjoy. Take a look...

The Diptyque Paris shop had pulled me in by the smell of the candle they had burning at the entrance. After 20 minutes of sniffing the perfume testers and a jar filled with coffee beans interchangeably I had narrowed my favorite scents to  Oyédo and L'Ombre dans l'Eau . And while those were my personal top picks, all of the scents that I had the pleasure to get a whiff of were incredibly pure and clean and it was a good break from the majority of artificial perfumes you can get your hands on in department stores. So if you have a chance, I would highly suggest you stop by your nearest Diptyque shop and give their perfumes a try, you wont be disappointed, especially if you are a Jo Malone lover like myself.

Since I knew that today would involve lots of walking around I settled for a pair of boyfriend jeans, a simple tee, military green oversized blazer and my favorite converse ( they go with everything, it's magic!).

RED BRICK

September 19, 2013

The loud crunch of leaves beneath my foot reminded me that Autumn had set in over San Francisco. I took the beautiful weather outside as an opportunity to wander around the streets of the city that I have never set foot on before. My dear friend Diana and I have eventually stumbled upon a breathtakingly stunning red brick building and out of curiosity decided to take a quick look inside. It ended up being an old middle school that was remarkably eerie yet alive at the same time we did not want to leave.

Wearing: Barcelona FC jersey | Zara skirt (similar) | ASOS blazer | DSW ridding boots

With the nice weather and one of my favorite football/soccer teams winning a match the night before I opted for my beloved Barcelona FC jersey to show off my pride. I then threw own a plain white skirt that I got absolutely ages ago from Zara on sale and to tie it all together some suede riding boots. Having learened my lesson with San Francisco weather in the past I also grabbed a textured blazer as I was heading out the door.

Only one more sleep until Friday! What are your weekend plans?!

A PEAK INSIDE...

September 18, 2013
As i was frantically shoving my notebook into my already full to the brim bag this morning an idea had popped into my head. Given that i, myself, adore a look at what's inside other people's bags i thought that it would would only be fair if I allow everyone a peak into mine as well. So without further ado here's a glance at the insides of my very much loved Longchamp (mine is a Large Chocolate Brown Tote I believe) that has become my trusty companion in everything from Uni lectures to evenings out on the town and even some rare weekend getaways when i get a chance.
I decided to call him Charles (don't judge).

If you were to stop me in the middle of the street on my way to a lecture hall there is a very high probability that I would have all of this and more (snacks, snacks, and one more time snacks) jam packed into poor Charles. While I was taking everything out of my bag today I could believe at the things that were there besides the ones shown in the picture, I found a seashell that I had picked up on my trip to Barcelona this summer, who knew?!

Now besides notebooks and a laptop for class ( I don't find myself in a need of one throughout the class to be honest so that is why I don't carry one) here are some bits and bobs that with time I found to be essential for my handbag.

Camelback water bottle (Hydration is KEY!)
A set of tangled headphones (I use the ones that came with my IPhone)
Kleenex tissues and wet wipes (you never know...)
Ray Ban aviators (Original 58mm, Gold)
Fossil Wallet
A pencil case with all the usual stuff and a flash drive (I always find myself needing this at the most random times!)
Bath and Body Works hand sanitizer in Winter Cranberry (yum)
Altoid Smalls, Minty Eclipse gum, and breath spray (I swear I am not a dentist haha)
Extra set of contact lenses
Bobby pins and a hair band (we all know how many times a day we go looking for these)
Bandaids and perfume samples for when in need
Vaseline (Aloe Vera)
YSL Rouge Volupte Sheer Candy in NO2 Dewy Papaya (It smells DELICIOUS!)

Happy snooping and I would love to see what's inside of your bag so please, do share! Also, I am the only one that names their purses? Oh well! Hope you enjoyed!

Much LOVE,
xx Ally Zyricheva

HOW DO YOU DO?

So i guess this is my hello to anyone out there that might ever stumble upon this page and start wondering as to what this is. To be quite honest with you all i'm not quite sure where this is heading myself, but i'm excited! (You should be too!) So HELLO! I'm Ally and i'm currently sat in my ever so comfortable bed with a cup of peach tea (aka the best tea ever) completely swamped with emotions and ideas about this blog that my clever *cough*not really*cough*self has decided to call BeneathTheOrdinary. Why? Simple. I am a firm believer that absolutely everyone is extraordinary, however, sometimes it can be rather intimidating to share that extra part of your being with the rest of the world. I am no different myself, so this blog is going to be my way of sharing absolutely anything and everything that I believe to be special enough to be shared. I'm gonna warn you right now, there are probably gonna be a lot of times where you might find yourself thinking "Why the hell is there a picture of a bunny at the end of a skincare routine post?" whilst glancing over a post on BeneathTheOrdinary. But hey?! At least i warned you, right?
Alright, i think this suffices for an introductory post of 19 year old sleep deprived college student in search of her own identity. At least i really hope it does!
Good night everyone!
P.S. you should really try that Sleepy Time Peach tea, it's marvelous!

Much love and cuddles,
xx Ally Zyricheva
